His name is famous for being one of the judges in the Master Chef Indonesia event, where he was considered very cruel, fierce, and spicy in giving comments. Juna is also known to be very unfriendly, not qualified as a judge, and even reaping a variety of criticisms from the audience of Master Chef Indonesia. But behind this unhappiness, Juna did save potential and extraordinary cooking abilities. this was evidenced by the techniques he had shown when cooking.
His very sharp comments in giving an assessment of the participants might be understandable considering that he was educated very hard when he first went into the culinary world. The criticism that has been made for the Indonesian Master Chef participants is not much compared to Juna's own process while still learning to cook. However, in just four years, he managed to become a Sushi Master and was given the trust to take over the position of Head Chef in the restaurant where he worked.
When he was young, Juna was classified as a delinquent boy. When he was 17 years old, he made a gang called Bad Bones. This gang always drives a Harley Davidson together no matter where they go. Then after graduating from high school, he had studied in the oil field for 3.5 years. Unfortunately, his lecture was not finished because he was too naughty.
Men who have tattoos on both of their arms have had an extraordinary hard life. he was kidnapped, tortured, almost shot and overdosed. But then his mind changes and intends to improve. His own tattoo was made when he was 15 years old with a homemade machine.
Failing to graduate from college in Indonesia, Chef Juna took the initiative to improve his life. He moved to Brownsville, Texas, United States in 1997, and sold his favorite motorbike for his school fees there. In America, Chef Juna entered flight school and successfully passed and got a pilot license.
After a while, when he was taking a commercial license, his flight school went bankrupt so he moved to Houston to continue training. But due to the monetary crisis in 1998, Juna's parents experienced economic difficulties that forced Juna to find her own money for the cost of her life.
Juna's profession as a chef was accidentally achieved. In order to maintain his life in the land of Uncle Sam, he was willing to work anything. Finally he got a job as a waiter in a traditional Japanese restaurant. After a while, the Sushi master in his place offered Juna to be his student. Juna accepted the offer and was willing to be trained from the start with a very hard method. Thanks to his extraordinary ability, the restaurant owner was amazed and promoted Juna to get a Permanent Resident.
In 2002, Juna took over as head chef at the restaurant because of the sushi master who trained Juna to move to another restaurant. Furthermore, in 2003, Juna moved to the number 1 sushi restaurant in Houston called Uptown Sushi and became the Executive Chef there.
Over time, he was saturated with Japanese cuisine so he moved to a French restaurant, The French Laundry, known as a restaurant that applies high standards. He also had to study again from the beginning. There he was educated very hard so that the food produced looked beautiful, but still tasty and nutritious.
This restaurant will provide a connection to mistakes made by the chef, although it is very trivial. Naturally, if this affects the way Juna gives an assessment of the participants he faces. Basically, he only applies what he gets from his experience.
When he returned to Indonesia, he also showed outstanding performance as a chef. He knows how to create the right cooking atmosphere so that the results achieved are maximized, he currently serves as Executive Chef at the Jack Rabbit Jakarta restaurant while still being a judge of Master Chef Indonesia.
